Paragliding
Vipava Valley has 2 registered launch sites for free flight, and experienced gliders can also take off from many other hills, especially the popular Čaven. Pilots and those accompanying them are very well taken care of. There are also shuttles, taking thrill seekers to the launch sites, and you can always find a delicious bite to eat around the official landing zones. Less experienced visitors who would still like a taste of free fall can opt for incredible tandem flights.

Modeling club Ventus
Lovers of both motor and sailing models of aircraft can fly their models at a near-by modeling airport.

Climbing
The steep walls surrounding the Vipava Valley and the gorges cut out by streams and rivers have provided some incredible rock faces that attract climbers from both far and wide. They are drawn to nature’s playground, which offers the ideal routes for both practice and serious ascents. The mild climate even makes it possible to climb on warm faces during the winter, while a shady rock face can be found to beat the summer heat. Once they reach the top climbers are rewarded with stunning views of the majestic Adriatic Sea and towering Alpine peaks.

Cycling
Cyclists like to say that the Vipava Valley, with all there is to see, is best experienced on two wheels. Legendary road ascents and descents, twice included in the famous Giro d'Italia, as well as the thrilling inclines of the mountain trails offer challenges that are simply a must for any active cyclist. Naturally, less demanding lanes also abound, and even a casual ride around the Vipava Hills will not leave you indifferent, we promise. Any time of the year, the Vipava Valley features a cycling trail worth taking.

Vipava
Vipava is a town in western Slovenia. It is the largest settlement and the seat of the Municipality of Vipava. Vipava is located near the numerous sources of the Vipava River, in the upper Vipava Valley, 102 metres (335 ft) above sea level. Historically, it used to be a part of the traditional region of Inner Carniola, but it is now generally regarded as part of the Slovenian Littoral.

Štanjel
Štanjel is a village in the Municipality of Komen in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It is located on the Karst Plateau overlooking the Vipava Valley. In the 17th century it was fortified to defend it against Ottoman raids. It was heavily damaged during World War II and it has been slowly rebuilt since.

Postojna cave
Postojna Cave (Slovene: Postojnska jama; German: Adelsberger Grotte; Italian: Grotte di Postumia) is a 24,340 m long karst cave system near Postojna, southwestern Slovenia. It is the second-longest cave system in the country (following the Migovec System)[2] as well as one of its top tourism sites.[3] The caves were created by the Pivka River.[4]
